Just gonna pop in a link to one of my favourite videos about wolves. It incredibly describes what happened after wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park, after having been extinct for 80-odd years.
Essentially, every species in the park was affected, and even the rivers changed – through a concept called trophic cascades. Something I will post about in more depth soon – I find it fascinating to think just how many important ecological processes we’ve lost in Europe through the extinction of our large carnivores.
How would our landscapes change if wolves were reintroduced?
